* Turn Evil * by Fuel in 1996 - The information file

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
1 What's this musicdisk all about?
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Lately, while cleaning our HD's, we ran through the Fuel archives, and thought
it would be nice to make a musicdisk with some tunes that never got used (yet).
Some of them were ment as demo-music or as diskmag-music, but weren't used due
to incompatibility problems between the song format and the formats supported
by the player used in the demo. (e.g. only 4 channel mods were supported)
We hope the composers finally will get any credits they deserve.

2 Using the Turn Evil player
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Since we're still busy on our new musicdisk engine, we used fc's player to
release this musicdisk. The player automatically recognizes your card.
It tries to find a GUS first, then a SB Pro or SB. Port and DMA channels are
automatically set. If you want to override this default search, you can use
command line parameters. Here's a list of available options:
-sb select Soundblaster as music card (only old SB's)
-sp select Soundblaster Pro as music card (try this one!)
-sg select Gravis Ultrasound as music card (the best ! :)
If there are still problems after manually setting the soundcard, you can
still try these settings:
-i### set interrupt (decimal!)
-a### set port (hex!)
-c### set dma channel (decimal!)
-m### set mixing speed
!WARNING! If you have a SB Pro, 16 or 32, you MUST manually set the soundcard
to Sb Pro to avoid wrong melodies in the autodetect soundcard mode and to
have a better general sound quality !!
The "wrong melody error" occured on some test-computers with new Sb's while
playing the Nightcrawler song!
We recommend you have the environment for your GUS set in your autoexec,
e.g. if you have a GUS at port 260, dma 3 and irq 11, this would be
SET ULTRASND=260,3,3,11,11
You MUST set Sb environment. SB at port 220, irq 5, dma 1, highdma 5 would be
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5

3 What is Blind Date?
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Blind Date is the name of our upcoming musicdisk, which will feature 10
quality songs, support for MOD, S3M and XM, support for GUS and SB soundcards,
our own player, visual sound-synchronised effects, mouse-support, new surround
sound mode, animations and nice handpainted graphics.
It's a mega project in which all Fuel demo people are currently involved, and
it takes all of our time.
Be sure to catch it as soon as it'll be finished!
